Our First Visitors! Days 1-2

We have been so lucky to have had lots of visitors since we have moved out here. They have been coming in waves, so it's been non-stop fun!

First up was my Mom, Momadear and Granddaddy! It was SO good to see them! It had been months since we had seen them, and I was just starting to get homesick so it was perfect timing getting to see them!

Thursday started off hanging out, just Mom and me! I got to take her to my fav, Peet's Coffee, then back to my apartment to see the doggies and to see our apartment. We then took a small tour around town, and we were able to swing by Colby's office and say hello!
We then met up with Veronica, Momadear, Granddaddy and my Uncle Garry for lunch in Los Gatos. It was so nice to have everyone together, sitting outside, catching up and enjoying the beautiful weather!
Later that afternoon, a few of us headed over to Testarossa Winery in Los Gatos for the first of many wine tastings over the weekend! We got there right in time! As we were wrapping up our tasting an entire wedding party arrived for their wedding rehearsal!

For dinner that night, we all headed over to Dio Deka. It was so yummy! We all ate, a lot (!) then headed home. We had a big day ahead of us!
this house has a chair that just sits outside like this. all the time. CR-EEPY.
Friday, we got up early and headed into San Francisco for the day! It had been a long time since my Mom or grandparents had been, so we got to do a lot of fun touristy things!

We started off at the beach where CL and I got engaged! It has a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge, so it was a perfect photo op!

After the beach, we headed over to the Palace of Fine Arts. I had never been there, so it was really cool to stop and enjoy it!

We drove down Lombard Street (I giggled the whole time!) and meandered around Ghirardelli Square.

I finally got to try Umami Burger for lunch, and it was yummy, yall! And Mexican Coke, swoon!
Chanel purse party at lunch!

After lunch, we headed to Coit Tower and actually went up! It was a little sktechy in the elevator, but we made it up and down and got to enjoy a beautiful view of the city. We even walked the Filbert Steps. Hence the seriously sore hamstrings the next day!
The view from the top of the Coit Tower!

 This lighting? Amazing, huh?
Before dinner, we enjoyed happy hour at Top of the Mark before heading to Le Colonial to eat. It was such a fun, memory filled day, and this was the best way to end it! The food at Le Colonial was so good. I can't wait to go back! The restaurant is in the original Trader Vic's!

I don't look le tired at all... not.

Part two and three, days 3-5 coming up next!

Astros Baseball in California

Last week, Colby and I had the opportunity to meet up with some friends in Oakland to watch some baseball. Its not every day your hometown team, the Houston Astros, are basically playing in your backyard!

Colby sent me on a wild goose chase to find a new Astros hat, which was actually to locate than I thought. Thank goodness for Lids! I on the other hand headed to Old Navy and found a navy and orange sweater shirt so I can wear it other than to Astros games!
We headed to the train station and took Bart into Oakland. It was a little windy waiting on the platform, but we decided it wouldn't be that cold at the game. YEAH RIGHT.

We got to the ballpark in what seemed like record time and met up with Andy and Tait. O.Co Coliseum is where both the Oakland A's and the Raiders Play, so I was a little apprehensive about the area, but it was fine. (Although Im pretty confident I'll never attend a Raiders game!) There was also a Spurs/ Golden Gate Warriors game next door, so there was lots of people out and about.
We settled into our seats and the game got started. We got to sit with some other Astros fans which was nice! The wind was BRUTAL. As the sun started setting, it got colder and colder. This was definitely the first baseball game i've been to where i've requested hot chocolate instead of beer!

We stayed as long as we could handle the cold and the awful awesome effort the Astros were putting up. It was so fun, and I'm looking forward to going to another game, possibly Giants, soon!

Cheers!
