It's always fun getting a text at 10:30pm saying "Napa tomorrow?"
Living this close to one of the most beautiful places on earth is seriously one of my favorite things about living here.
"Um yes! Of Course" was definitely our answer as we didn't have anything major planned. Colby needed a new pair of running shoes, but that was not nearly as important as spending the day in the wine country with family and friends.
we got up bright and early and headed to veronica and mike's in menlo park. the lights around standford are seriously horrible. it takes longer to get through the lights around their neighborhood than it takes to drive from san jose, to menlo park. no lie. (ps they showed us a shorter route that we will now be taking!)
anyways, we all jumped in the car and headed to sausalito to meet up with Mike's boss and his friend. The view from his house is seriously one of the most beautiful views of the city. simply stunning.
the car ride (all 6 of us in one vehicle) was seriously one of the best parts of the day. singing at the tops of our lungs to silly 80s music with the windows down, cruising through napa is a memory i'll have forever!
we started the day off at Robert Sinskey Vineyards. It was gorgeous outside. We all had a great time chatting and sipping wine. This has got to be one of my new favorite places in the world.
next stop was Silverado Vineyards. they were a little stingy on the tasting pours, but they made up for it with the views. One of the best of the valley, for sure.
we then headed to Auberge du Soleil for 'linner' and some more wine. the views were magnificent and the food was yummy. it was such a great way to end such a great day. you know it was an amazing day when your face hurts from smiling and laughing so much.
hope you all had a great weekend! i can't wait for another like this!
